Ally: I never imagined I would be writing a blog like this. I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) at 34 years old in 2021, and like most people, I thought my life would shrink into something smaller, quieter, and defined by illness. But somewhere along the way, I realised that even with a terminal diagnosis, life doesn’t stop. It just changes shape. Terminally Well is my space to share what that looks like. I write about the reality of living with MND/ALS. The physical changes, the emotional weight, the shifting relationships but also the unexpected parts: the humour, the love, the small wins, and the quiet moments that still feel full. I use an eye gaze computer to communicate, which means every word here takes time. But it also means every word matters. This blog isn’t about pretending everything is okay. It’s about finding a way to live fully, honestly, and even beautifully, in the middle of something incredibly hard.
